In 2010, our Brazil IN Funeral Home was honored with the NFDA Green Funeral Practices Certificate. Moore Funeral Home is the first funeral home in Indiana to receive this designation. This new award program recognizes exceptional NFDA funeral homes that have adopted and implemented ethical, sustainable green funeral and business practices in order to become more environmentally responsible to client families, employees, and their communities.
What is a green burial?
A Green burial, or natural burial, ensures the burial site remains as natural as possible in all respects. Interment of the bodies is done in a bio-degradable casket, shroud, or a favorite blanket. No embalming fluid and no concrete vaults are used.
Why have a green burial?
People choose Green Burials in Indiana for a variety of reasons. One is concern over land usage and waste. Others may opt for a Green Burial because they feel it is the most natural way to return to the Earth. Reasons are varied and far ranging, and most of all, personal.
Burial vs Cremation
A green burial is a cremation alternative, and a viable alternative to traditional burial practices. It is an earth friendly option when considering burial vs cremation. Many families choose cremation because it's seen as more environmentally friendly than traditional burial.
