Our Heritage and History
The Moore Family roots are planted deep in the history of Clay County. In 1876, Wm. W. Moore Sr., a Scottish immigrant, settled in Knightsville, IN and began operation of a flour mill. By 1880 he opened a hardware store on Brazil’s Main Street and in 1885, Mr. Moore first offered “undertaking” services.
Succeeding generations of the Moore family have dedicated themselves to the family vocation, perfecting their craft and building a tradition of service and professional technical skill that established a standard of personal service and unmatched attention to detail.
In 2012, Robert D. (Rob) Moore, chose to leave the business in the hands of Tyler Tutterow, a 2007 Vincennes University Graduate with an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science. Tyler has deep roots in Clay County, and is honored to have opportunity to serve the community. He is joined in the business by his wife Brandi.
While we are proud of our past, we are more concerned with the future. That is why we are always looking for better ways to serve you. Whether it means being the first to add more innovative services, or expanding our facilities, we are dedicated to our profession and committed to helping the people in the community that have come to mean so much to us.

The mission of the Moore Funeral Home is to create meaningful funerals for those families we are privileged to serve, to be a focused and innovative funeral home, and to provide our families with more information, more choices and more value than any other funeral home in this community. We will keep our economic mission and our purpose mission in balance and we will direct our energy, time and resources toward those we serve, not our competition.
