Our heritage/history
The Moore Family roots are planted deep in the history of Clay County. In 1876, Wm. W. Moore Sr., a Scottish immigrant, settled in Knightsville, IN and began operation of a flourmill. By 1880 he opened a hardware store on Brazil’s Main Street and in 1885, Mr. Moore first offered “undertaking” services.

Succeeding generations of the Moore family have dedicated themselves to the family vocation, perfecting their craft and building a tradition of service and professional technical skill that established a standard of personal service and unmatched attention to detail.

In 1998, Robert D. (Rob) Moore — the fourth generation — continues the family tradition of funeral service after graduating from Indiana University in 1973 and a 26 year career in the healthcare field. He is joined in the business with his wife, Vanita.

While we are proud of our past, we are more concerned with the future. That is why we are always looking for better ways to serve you. Whether it means being the first to add more innovative services, or expanding our facilities, we are dedicated to our profession and committed to helping the people in the community that have come to mean so much to us.
