Billy Hugh Robertson, 90, passed away Sunday October 8, 2017 at his home in Brazil. He was born in Clay County on October 15, 1926 to the late Hugh and Bernice (Shaffer) Robertson. Bill attended Cory schools for eleven years, before moving to Brazil High School and meeting the love of his life, Dorothy June Rightsell and graduating in 1944. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
Bill started his career as a line mechanic at the bus garage in Brazil, and later started working at D.P. motors and Hedges. He also worked for Hughes Chrysler Plymouth, and several other dealerships in the area.
Bill enjoyed helping friends and family with mechanical issues to his last days, and he loved playing cards. He also raised and sold garden plants and flowers from a home greenhouse. Mr. Robertson was a member of the Knightsville Masonic Lodge for over 60 years serving in every chair including Past Master. He also served as a Scoutmaster and a 4H Leader. Bill was a member of the First Christian Church in Brazil since January 1, 1939, earning him the title of the “Longest Living Member of the Church”.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy June Rightsell; brother, Glen Robertson; and sisters, Sylvia, Edna, and Eloise.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Chris Gregg officiating and burial with military honors to follow at Clearview Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 P.M.
