Billy “Opa” Melvin Woolf, went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2017 after living a “Cinderella Life” for 84 years. He was born in Brazil, Indiana on December 5, 1932 to the late Melvin A. and Florence (Brown) Woolf. Billy graduated from Brazil High School in 1950 and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Counseling. He worked as a School Counselor for many years, but retired early to pursue his love for farming.

Billy was a pillar of the Bowling Green Community, sharing his love for the outdoors with many children in the area. He was a member of the Bowling Green United Methodist Church. “Opa was such a genuine and jovial person, who seemed to get an incredible satisfaction from simply experiencing life with the ones he loved!”

Mr. Woolf was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Woolf Polis.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nadene Woolf; son, Jack J. (Jacqueline) Woolf; daughter, LaFonda (Eric Swartz) Woolf; sister, Carol Lowe and grandchildren, Emily Polis, Christopher Woolf, Kelcy (Britaney) Cook, Kevin (Chelsea) Cook, LaKyla (Jason) Cook Penrod, Wendy Schoof, and Terry Clark.
