Charlotte Jane Bridgewater, 77, Brazil, passed away on September 1, 2017, at home after a long battle with Parkinson’s.

 She was born on December 26, 1939 in Brazil, Indiana to Maxine and Chubb Walker. She attended Ashboro School and she graduated from Brazil High School in 1958. She was a waitress for many years and was very proud of the fact that she was one of the first women to be employed at Amax Coal Co. She worked at Amax for 22 years years before she retired. She loved attending the coal miner’s picnic and was very sad that she was unable to attend this year. 

In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and playing bingo. She loved watching football with Bob, who was the love of her life. She was a huge Peyton Manning fan and supported him when he played for the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos. 

She was proceeded in death by her parents Maxine Walker and Chubb Walker and one brother Max Walker. 

Survivors include her husband, Robert Bridgewater, whom she married on November 25, 1982. Her children: Lori (Jerry) Lawson, Cori Moody (Bruce Kirby), Lex Barker, and Kim Whitehead. Her step children: John (Dianna) Bridgewater, Tammy (Ed) Curley, Rob (Lynn) Bridgewater, Cindy Goerres, Chad (Tricia) Bridgewater and Heather (Glenn) Leone.  Grandchildren: Bryant Whitehead, Chelsea (Brian) Thompson, and EC (Misty) Moody. Step Grandchildren:  Nicole (Christopher) Hernandez, Dustin Bridgewater, Megan Foster, Devon Bridgewater, Megan Curley, Jenni (Ryan) Stoehr, Jay Bridgewater, Autumn Rice, Nicole (Brett) Porter, Mark Bridgewater, Tim Leone, Emily Leone. Great grandchildren: Isabella Moody and Hadley Thompson.   Step Great Grandchildren: Ryleigh Stoehr and Nora Foster.  Brother: Charles (Aurora) Walker, Sister In Law: Stella, Walker. Brother IN Law: John (Janet) Bridgewater, Larry (Ellena) Bridgewater and Sister In Laws:  Pat Vendeventer and Nina Chapman. Along with several nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Bob Kumpf officiating and burial to follow at Clearview Cemetery in Brazil. The family will accept friends for visitation on Wednesday from 1:00-3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clay County Humane Society, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
