Jimmy Joe Thompson, 69, passed away Tuesday September 19, 2017 at his home. He was born in Brazil, Indiana on April 17, 1948 to the late Max and Helen (Harris) Thompson. Jimmy graduated from Van Buren High School in 1966, and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in the family business, Thompson Logging and loved animals especially his dog, Maggie Mae. Jimmy enjoyed spending time at the river and coon hunting. He was preceded in death by his brother, Chuck Thompson; sisters, Patty Thompson and Joy Trout, sister-in-law, Myla Geswein and brother-in-law, Elmer Trout.

A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Thompson Family Park. Moore Funeral Home in Brazil was entrusted with his cremation arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Disable American Veterans,(3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076), the Clay County Humane Society (8280 N County Road 125 W, Brazil, IN 47834), or the charity of your choice.
