Layton Carter

Layton Duane Carter ,77, of Cloverdale passed away November 18, 2017 at his home.  He was born in Martinsville, Indiana to the late Oliver and Mary (Rutan) Carter.  In 1959 he married his wife 58 years Clara Mae Brickert.  

Layton worked as farmer before starting with the Putnam county highway department where he would eventually retire from. When he was able, he enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his brothers Victor and Barney Carter.  Three sisters Violet Hoves, Helen Thacker, and Darlene Forney and two grandchildren Daniel and April Carter.

            Sons – Donnie (Karen) Carter         Mt. Meridian, Indiana
                        Danny (Lee ann) Carter       Center Point, Indiana
                        Darrell (Joanne) Carter        Willowgrove, Tennessee
                        Darren (Amy)            Carter Cloverdale, Indiana
            Daughter – Theresa (Jim) Gregory Brazil, Indiana
Layton is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren

A celebration of Laytons Life will be held at 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation on Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Mrs. Carter.
