Ricky Whitehead

Ricky Whitehead, 57 of Brazil, Indiana died peacefully on Tuesday October 4, 2017 at Summerfield Healthcare Center, Cloverdale, Indiana. He was born August 3, 1960 in Brazil, Indiana son of Ernest Whitehead Sr. and Barbara Dickison Duke. Ricky attended Brazil city schools.

Ricky worked many jobs including over ten years at Bedwell Tire and as a truck driver for Advanced Trucking and James Hutchinson Trucking. He also worked for a short time at Lynch Garden Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents George and Anna Mary Dickison and Noah and Jessie Whitehead, and sisters Cathy Duke and Sonya Whitehead.

Survivors include his son Bryant Whitehead, brothers Ernest JR, Ronald, and Carl Whitehead of Brazil, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ricky enjoyed the outdoors and was the happiest when camping with family and friends at various camp sites in Bridgetown, Staunton, and especially at the Eel River in Bowling Green, Indiana. He was a gentle soul and very generous to all. He was willing to share whatever he had with others. He also loved his many rescue dogs. And was very fond of his longtime companion “Bear”.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Moore Funeral Home. Services will follow at 7:00 PM with pastor Kenny Thomas officiating.

Ricky’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Summerfield Healthcare for the care and compassion shown to Ricky.
