Doris (Young) Ochs

Doris Ochs, 90 passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Heritage Woods of Noblesville. She was born on June 18, 1933 in Greencastle, Indiana to the late Ross and Osa (Cooper) Young. Doris graduated from Brazil High School in 1952 and married James Ochs on September 24, 1966. She worked as an estimator for Lee Company School Supply, and was an active member of the Brazil First Christian Church as well as the Legacy Bible Church in Fishers.

Doris loved anything having to do with the Chicago Cubs, but enjoyed following all the Chicago teams, and watching all types of sporting events. She was very social, always wanting to be with others, and loved attending music bingo. Doris was an avid supporter of the Northview High School consolidation, and loved watching marching bands, percussion groups, and the winter guard. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Tatum Showalter; and sister, Bonnie Fatch.

Survivors include her sons, Derek (Amy) Ratcliff of Terre Haute, and Garrett (Gina) Ratcliff of Brazil; daughter, Heidi (Chris) Miller of Fishers; grandchildren, Kaleb Ratcliff, Eli Ratcliff, Isac Wilson, and Pete Wilson; Bryce (Haley) Crawford, Kaytlyn Crawford, Rachel Miller, Hannah Miller, and Malia Myrtle; great-grandchildren, Everett, Barrett, Madeline, Amelia, and Hayes; as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with burial to follow at Clearview Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made tot he American Alzheimers Association.
