Kanova Barnett, 77, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Clay County, Indiana on August 25, 1943 to the late Orval and Scharlotte (Burch) Quilliam. Kaye graduated from Staunton High School and later married William E. Barnett in 1963. In the early years she stayed home with her children, and sold Avon. In later years, she worked as a secretary for several insurance agencies.

In her free time she was an avid bowler, and enjoyed doing crafts. Her greatest passion was working with Beta Sigma Phi. Kaye was preceded in death by her husband.

She is survived by her sons, Gene (Darla) Barnett, II of Terre Haute, and Erick P. (Julia) Barnett, of Brazil; sister, Cheryll (Michael) Stewart of Palm Coast, Florida; and grandchildren, William E. Barnett, III, Erick P. Barnett, II, Alyssia Barnett, Nickolas Barnett, Isabella Barnett, and Taylor Lovett.

Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with Kaye’s cremation arrangements. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
