James Carl “Banjo” Wallace, age 77, of Brazil died 11:15 a.m., Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.
He was born August 17, 1934 in Clay County, Indiana, the son of Ben Joe and Nettie Haltom Wallace. He married Jo Ann Bray on August 24, 1957. She preceded him in death on September 1, 2007. He was a member of New Life Fellowship Church in Terre Haute. He had worked as a timber purchaser and as a minister. He especially enjoyed calling Bingo at Meridian Towers, Cooper Towers and Jackson Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jo Ann Wallace; son and daughter-in-law Carl and Janice Wallace and their three children Carl Dean, Carlie and Stephanie; daughter-in-law Patty Wallace; three brothers Bill, Don and Lester Wallace; and two sisters Julia Wallace and Norma Brown.
He is survived by three sons Larry (Diane) Wallace of Terre Haute, Donald Wallace of Brazil, James (Linda) Wallace of Brazil; two grandchildren Sara (Jacob) Sutton of Terre Haute; Ryan (Amanda) Wallace of Terre Haute; seven great-grandchildren Hannah, Bryce and Gavin Sutton, Zachary, Brayden, Eliana and Annelise Wallace; two sisters Ruth (Bill) Sciotto of Rosedale, Janet Wallace of Brazil; and sister-in-law Barbara Wallace of Reelsville.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Jeffrey Harpole officiating. Burial will follow at Croys Creek Cemetery, Reelsville, Indiana.
