Life Legacy
Melvin H. Miller, age 88 of Brazil, IN died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.
He was born April 7, 1924 in Wynoose, IL as the son of Wm. N. and Celia Dugan Miller. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Virgie Marlene Sheese who has preceded him in death. He was employed as a steel worker for 20 years and had also worked as a farmer.
He was a life member of AmVets, VFW, and the American Legion and was also a member of the Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virgie; sister, Vera Cummins; brother, Orville Miller; grandson, Brian Hayden; granddaughter, Chasta Higgins; great grandson, Michael Hayden; and son-in-law, Ernie Chesshir.
He is survived by sons, Larry Miller (Loretta), Michael Rambo (Beverly), and Roger Rambo; daughters, Fonda Chesshir, Sandy Haltom (Jerry), Donna McMullin (Charle), and Barbara Skene (Mike); sister, Lyla Amthor of Florida; 22 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and other extended family.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, August 9th at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday with burial to follow at Garrard Chapel Cemetery in Owen County.
