Benjamin “Benjie” Paul Sowers, 51, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Gibson Family Hospice Unit at Union Hospital with his family at his side. He was born on March 14, 1967 in Madison, Tennessee to Benjamin L. And Hazel (Cox) Sowers. He attended Union Springs Academy in Union Springs, New York and graduated from Clay City High School in 1985. Benjie served his country in the United States Navy, where he graduated from the Naval School of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland as a Certified Operating Room Tech. He was employed in many hospitals around the country. In his free time he loved spending time with his family, friends, and pets. Ben enjoyed fishing, hunting for arrowheads and other artifacts, collecting about anything and listening to music. Preceded in death by a special sister, Louise Hoover.

A celebration of Benjie’s life will be held at 6:00 P.M. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Dusty Langley officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation on Saturday from 4:00-6:00 P.M.
