Catherine Hewes

Catherine L. Hewes, age 94 of Brazil, IN died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Exceptional Living Center in Brazil.

She was born March 31, 1917 in Brazil, IN as the daughter of Ira C. and Olive Campbell Linton. She graduated from Brazil High School. She married Raymond S. Hewes August 30, 1947. She worked as the produce manager at the A&P Grocery Store and Krogers before her marriage. She enjoyed sewing and crochet work. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; sister, Ena Cagle; brother, Everett Linton; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Linton.

She is survived by daughter, Gloria Summers (John) of Brazil; nieces, Roxanna Tisdale (Doug) and Janice Deakins (Harold); grandchildren, Lori Clonc (Gary), Lisa Libka (Chip), Lana Willhite, and Larry Summers; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Moore Funeral Home was chosen to provide graveside funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 7th at Clearview Cemetery with Richard Herron officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2731 W. US Hwy 40 Brazil IN 47834.
