Emory Charles Cheek, 78, passed away Friday December 1, 2017 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute with his family by his side. He was born in Seelyville, Indiana on November 23, 1939 to the late Clyde and Ruth (Rader) Cheek. Charles graduated from Van Buren High School in 1958, and married Margaret “Peggy” Allen on May 29, 1959. He worked in Assembly at Allison’s Transmission.

Charles enjoyed caring for his vehicles, mowing his lawn, walking, watching westerns, fishing, but mostly spending time with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Cheek; Brother, Clyde D. Cheek, Jr.; as well as his mother and father in-law, Forest and Winifred Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday December 5, 2017 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with burial to follow at Calcutta Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Monday, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
