Gertrude "Gerty" (McCoy) Bell

Gertrude “Gerty” Bell, 88, passed away Saturday October 13, 2018 at her home in Brazil with her family at her side. She was born on October 3, 1930 in Attica, Indiana to the late Ted and Olive (Quick) McCoy. Gerty graduated from Brazil High School in 1949, and married Robert Bell on October 14, 1950. She worked as a secretary for the attorney Charlie Cochran, Kidd Insurance, and the Eastside Elementary School. Gerty and Robert are members of the First United Methodist Church of Brazil. 

Gerty loved spending time with her family. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, and quilting. She liked reading and working at the library and in her rose garden. Gerty was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne McCoy, brother-in-law, George W. Bell, as well as her mother and father in law, George and Martha Bell.

            Janette (Michael) Ledgerwood, Center Point, Indiana

    Brother:    Larry (Marlene) McCoy, Harmony, Indiana

    Sister:        Bonnie (Montie) Anderson, Noblesville, Indiana

    Sister-in-Law:    Gynelle (Richard) Stearley, Brazil, Indiana

    Grandchildren:    Jaime Bailey

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Rick Koch officiating and burial to follow at Union Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
