Graydon G. Ley, 94, of Stuart, Florida and formerly of Terre Haute, Indiana passed onto The Lord, Saturday, August 17, 2019, surrounded by his wife and family.
Graydon is survived by his wife, Doris of 73 years; his son, Robert Alan Ley of Bentonville, Arkansas; and his daughter, Susan Kujawa (nee Ley), of Stuart, Florida.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy Air Corp from 1943-1946 where he served as a TBM Pilot. Following his discharge, he attended Indiana State Teachers College receiving a Bachelor of Science in Physics, and Indiana University Masters of Science in Chemistry later being employed by the Anaconda Aluminum Company in North Terre Haute from 1958 – 1985 before retiring in North Terre Haute.
In retirement Graydon could be found on their 17 acre home site on Shrine Hill working on his tractor, mowing, tree trimming, and entertaining his 6 grandchildren until he and his wife moved to Florida in 2017.
A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Fellowship Church, 10205 Pratt Whitney Road, Stuart, Florida, Tuesday, August 27th, at 11:00 am, where the family will receive friends after 10:00 am.
Burial will be at Saint Peters Cemetery in Clay City, Indiana on Friday, August 30 at 11:00 AM, with Military Honors and Presentation of the Flag by the United States Navy Military Honor Guard
In lieu of flowers, contributions as a memorial may be made to the Vitas Hospice or Treasure Coast Hospice, in the name of Graydon G Ley.
