Janette Marie Peebles (Burns), 79, passed away on October 10, 2019 at Springhill Village in Terre Haute, Indiana after a long illness. She was born in Staunton, Indiana on August 23, 1940 to the late Kenneth and Alice (Russell) Burns. She graduated from Staunton High School in 1958 worked for Columbia Records and Sony until she semi-retired and decided to travel west. After visiting a number of states, she settled first in Houston and then in Galveston, Texas, working as an executive secretary for several companies.
Janette loved to be adventurous and liked to try different activities such as scuba diving and skeet shooting. She was a volunteer for the suicide prevention hotline and late volunteered for an alligator preserve in Florida. Jan enjoyed being with her family and friends, but loved her independence.
She was preceded in death by her brother: David E. Burns, in April of this year.

Janette was also survived by numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday October 23, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil, Indiana with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to a veteran’s organization or animal shelter of your choice.
