John William Summers

John William Summers, 85, passed away October 18, 2019 at the Gibson Family Hospice Center in Terre Haute. He was born in Lafayette, Indiana on January 16, 1934 to the late John Leroy Summers and Nelda Gertrude Summers Gould. John graduated from Brookston High School and retired from General Telephone when he was 59. He married Gloria Hewes on July 15, 1980.

In his free time he enjoyed being outside, mowing his grass. He and Gloria spent many years camping and boating. John also held his private pilots license and loved spending time in the air.

    Wife of 39 years:    Gloria Summers, Brazil, Indiana

    Son:    Larry (Molly) Summers, Crawfordsville, Indiana

    Daughters:    Lisa (Chip) Libka, Hillsboro, Indiana

            Lana Willhite, Crawfordsville, Indiana

            Lori (Gary) Cloncs, Crawfordsville, Indiana

    Brother:    Harold (Linda) Summers, Monticello, Indiana

    Sister: Joy Zarse, Anderson, Indiana

    Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren

At John’s request, no services will be held. Moore Funeral Home in Brazil has been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
