Leonard Steven “Steve” Griffith, 62, of Terre Haute and formerly of Brazil, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18th, 2019, after a long, courageous battle with myelodysplastic syndrome. Steve was born in Brazil, Indiana on February 2nd, 1957, to William Leonard and Betty Lois (Plumb) Griffith.
As a man of Christian faith, Steve attended several churches during his lifetime, including many years at First Christian Church in Brazil. He was a graduate of Brazil High School.
Steve was quite a film aficionado and could recall a wealth of movie trivia and acting credits, long before we had online film databases. Steve’s antics and friendly smile will linger in our minds, for many years to come. He had a kind soul, always ready to help a friend or family member in need. Steve’s devotion to his family and friends will not be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers David Noel Griffith and James Owen Griffith, as well as sisters Dolly Mae Price and Retta Faye Harding. He is survived by one sister; Deborah Suzanne Reffett, many nieces and nephews, and several friends.
We extend a heartfelt thanks to all staff members at Signature Healthcare who showed kindness and compassion to our Steve. A memorial service will be held Monday at 2:00 P.M. on September 30, 2019, at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil. Graveside services will follow at Clearview Cemetery in Brazil. Family will accept visitors from 12:00 P.M. Monday until the time of service. Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with Leonards cremation arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the MDS Foundation or National Stroke Association.
