Staunton, Indiana

Lois Kroesen, 91, passed away on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at her home in Staunton. She was born in Staunton on September 8, 1927 to the late Reed and Beatrice (Ripple) Lawson. Lois attended all 12 years of school in Staunton, and graduated as the Salutatorian in the Class of 1945. She married Dale Kroesen on April 4, 1957 in Buena Park, California. Dale was a journalist and together they owned and operated a small weekly newspaper and printing offices in Southern California. The sold it all and retired early and did quite a bit of traveling in their RV until his death in 1986.

In 1995 Lois returned to Staunton and built a house on her old home place. She enjoyed being an early member of the Lady Volunteers of Staunton, and was a longtime member of the Staunton Christian Church.

Mrs. Kroesen is survived by her brother, Larry Lawson; and her caretaker Terri Lowder. As well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A graveside service will be held at Summit Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Moore Funeral Home in Brazil was entrusted with Lois’s cremation arrangements.
