Albert Bell Obituary

Albert Hartman Bell, 91, formerly of Brazil, went home to be with his Heavenly Father at 2:15 A.M. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Westminster Village Health Center in Terre Haute. He was born on April 13, 1930 in Knightsville, Indiana to the late Bert and Amy May (Kunkle) Bell. He graduated from Brazil High School in the Class of 1948. During the Korean conflict, he served with the United States Army/Air Force 440th Signal Corp Co., deploying to Japan and Korea. After returning to civilian life, he began learning his lifelong trade as a bricklayer. He started his apprenticeship with J.M. Cutshall and Son and continued to lay brick well into his 70’s. 

On October 28, 1954, Albert married the love of his life, Violet Georgeanna (Wood) Bell, leaving a legacy of 66 year in marriage. Albert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was his highest priority and he cherished every moment with each member. 

Albert is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Georgeanna; brother, Ernest Bell; sister-n-laws, Mary Bell, Vivian Wood, Lillian (Wood) Rice; brother-n-law, Clayton Rice; niece, Carol Walter; and nephew, Jeffrey A. Bell. 

Survivors include his children, Jill R. (Brian) Haase of Rosedale, Brent D. (Shelly) Bell of Indianapolis, Jana K. (Don) Targett of Brazil; grandchildren, Joshua (Rebekah) Callahan, Jenna (Adam) Starbuck, Jonathan Bell, Holly (Tony) Harden, Brock (Kaysea) Modesitt, Brandon Bell, David Bell, Emily (Josh) Alsip; great-grandchildren, Aniyah Elizabeth Bell, Aurora Bell Modesitt, Alaya Faith Callahan, Aubrielle Elizabeth Callahan, Max Albert Harden, Mia Violet Starbuck, Josiah Timothy Callahan, Nolan Gene Harden; nephew, Rick (Vicki) Rice; nieces, Lydia (Steve) Dalton, and Carol Bell. 

The family wishes to thank the staff of Westminster Village and Hospice of the Wabash Valley for their kind expression of care and support. A private funeral service will be held at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil, with burial to follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery.
