Alice "Grammy" Marie (Gorman) Weddle

Alice “Grammy” Marie Weddle, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 18, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born in Brazil, Indiana on February 29, 1940 to the late Paris and Ruth (Summers) Gorman. Alice attended Clay County Schools, and married John Weddle on December 21, 1958.

Alice was a devout Christian, who enjoyed reading her bible, attending church, and praying for others. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing games, sitting on the porch, or going shopping. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, John Weddle; brother, Robert Gorman; sisters, Helen Gorman, Mary Murdock, Irene Stultz, Lorene McIntire, and Bessie Austin; as well as her beloved nephew, Herbie Walton.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathy (Eddie) McHargue, Laura (Dan) Wilkinson, Penny (Harry) Grigsby; sisters, Jane (Herb) Walton, Lynn Oxby, and Florence Eaglin; grandchildren, Jason (Carrie) McHargue, Rachel (Eric Day) Wilkinson, Kayla (Jeff) Trexler, Eddie McHargue, Jr., Cameron (Perry) Norris; great-grandchildren, Eric, Jacob, Jase, and Luke; as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with burial to follow at Clearview Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clay County Humane Society.
