Anna Maxine (Yarde) McCullough Obituary

Anna “Maxine” McCullough, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, August 26th, 2024 at Cloverleaf Nursing Home in Knightsville, Indiana. Maxine was born December 2, 1936, to Fred and Zelda Yarde in Brazil where she was raised and began to start a family of her own with her husband James R. McCullough.

Maxine’s time on this earth was not taken for granted. She and her husband of 51 years, built quite a wonderful life together settling in Centerpoint, Indiana. Maxine was none other than a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, to those who loved her deeply and unconditionally. Maxine continued to live her life for the simple pleasures and enjoyed her time chatting with friends and family over dinner, playing euchre and bingo with her grandkids, cheering on her favorite sports team, and watching her soap operas.

Maxine was a kindred spirit, and was always happy to help the who needed it. She was a blessing to many and touched many lives with her generosity and compassion as she went about her life. She will always be remembered by her family and friends as someone who lived her life on her own time, treasuring her time with her loved ones and getting to see each of them prosper. While Maxine will be missed by many, her legacy and insight will continue to roam thanks to those who loved her.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband James R. McCullough; her parents, Fred and Zelda Yarde; a sister, Patty (Chuck) Hackett; and a nephew, Jeff Stearley.

She is survived by her children, Angie (Ted) Tryon and Jamie McCullough; step-children, Tom (Alice) Meadows and Tim Meadows; sister, Sharon (Wilbur) Stearley; grandchildren, Taylor (John) Laycock, Tristen Malone, Devon Malone, Drew Tryon, Haylee Meadows, and Chelsea Meadows; great-grandchild, Maxen Laycock; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cloverleaf for taking such good care of our loved one and a “special” thanks to her roommate and friend Norma Hall for always being there for her.

Maxine will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Ashboro Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with her arrangements.
