Arthur Eugene Snider

Arthur Eugene Snider, 89, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute. He was born on November 19, 1932 in Greencastle to the late Alexander and Nellie Mae (Parrish) Snider. Art attended Greencastle schools, and later joined the Army where he fought in the Korean War. He married Sandra Schultz on August 8, 1964 and they were together for 29 years before she passed away. Art later married Sharon Houser in November of 1993. He worked in construction and most recently for the county highway. In his free time, Art enjoyed riding horses, gardening, and attending church; but he was most passionate about his skills as an artist. 

Art is preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Snider; son, Jeffrey Snider; daughter, Robin Williams; brothers, Robert Bixler, Thomas Bixler; sisters, Ruth Bixler, Ella Louise Bixler, Pauline Bixler, Catherine Bixler, and Anna Mae Bixler. 

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Sharon Snider; son, Harrold Siddons; daughters, Penny Miller, Lucinda (Scott) Burton; step-sons, Randy (Loretta) Fagg, John Fagg; step-daughters, Debra Skelton, Sandra (David) Cain; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; as well as many other extended family members and friends. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Troy Warner officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Brazil.
