Athena Mika Welch, 8 years old, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 21, 2020 after a tragic swimming accident. She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on September 28, 2011 to Jeffery and Beverly (Scott) Welch. Teenie attended New Life Fellowship, and was entering the third grade at Meridian Elementary School. She loved being outdoors, fishing, swimming, playing with her sisters, and playing Pokémon Go.

Athena is survived by her parents, Jeff and Beverly Welch; grandmothers, Beverly Scott and Judy Ornduff; Sisters, Alissa Welch, Gabbie Welch, Kristina Welch and Brittany Clevenger; brother, James Tabor; Aunts, Linda Webb, Kathy (Anthony) Bevis, Carrie (Shane) Minnick, Tiffany (Doug) Welch; Uncles, Danny Ornduff, Bobby Ornduff, Jimmy Ornduff, Bryan Ornduff, Chris Welch and Brian Moore

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 27, 2020 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Jeff Harpole officiating and burial to follow at Clearview Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Welch family below.
