Barbara Callahan Obituary

Barbara Joan Callahan, 88, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Providence Healthcare in Terre Haute. She was born in Terre Haute on January 17, 1934 to the late Leo Byron Higginbotham and Nancy (Bunch) Higginbotham. Barbara graduated from Wiley High School and worked at Columbia House Records and other offices around the area.

She loved animals, and spending time with friends and family. In her down time she enjoyed watching old westerns. Barbara was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, James Foster Black and Calvin Callahan; son, Greg Black; brothers, Avery, Leo, Jr. and Bill Higginbotham, and sisters, Mary Ellen Batson and Ruby Davidson.

Survivors include her sons, Terry Black and Jim Black, Jr.; daughters, Debbie (Mike) Willmouth and Cheryl Rudisell; brothers, Ron (Paula) Higginbotham and Russell Higginbotham; sister, Anna Heaton; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Moore Funeral Home in Brazil was entrusted with Barbara’s cremation arrangements.
