Betty J. Hassler, 92, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Cobblestone Crossings in Terre Haute. She was born in Brazil, Indiana on July 20, 1931 to the late Willie and Lona (Fishaber) Boyce. Betty graduated from Brazil High School in 1949, and went on to marry Harold Hassler in 1951. She retired from Chuckles Candy Company, and was a member of the Bismarck Church of Christ.

In her free time she enjoyed reading, working puzzles, collecting trinkets, playing card games, and raising her plants. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold and her brother Wayne Boyce.

Survivors include her son, Mike (Carrie) Hassler, of Tomball, Texas; daughters, Karen (Harold) Davis of Terre Haute, and Kathy Engel of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; grandchildren Christopher Engel, Jennifer Weickowski, Amanda Goodrich, Michelle Peavy, Kira Newsom, Bryn Davis and Logan Davis; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Faith Kefauver, John Preston Kefauver, III, Matthew Weickowski, Nehemiah Newsom, Elizabeth Weickowski, Zachariah Newsom, Colton Goodrich, Brantley Goodrich, Asher Peavy, and Aubri Peavy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 29, 2023 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Brad Bush officiating and burial to follow at Brown Cemetery in Center Point. The family will accept friends for visitation on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
