Beverly Jean Yates, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at HutsonWood at Brazil with her son by her side. She was born in Clay County on August 3, 1937 to the late Ray and Dorothy (Howald) Huffman. Beverly attended Staunton High School and later married Marvin Yates on August 7, 1955. She loved working in her flower garden, hanging pictures around the family home, and most importantly visiting with family. 

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Yates; son, Emery Yates; brother, Floyd Huffman; sisters, Gladis Whitchurch, and Lucille Galbirth. Survivors include her son, Al Yates; brothers, Henry Huffman, Bill (Yvonnie) Huffman; sister, Betty Butts; grandchildren, Joshua Metz, Joseph Yates, Jacob Yates; great-granddaughter, Alexis Metz; as well as other extended family members. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Clearview Cemetery with Randy Kline officiating.
