Billy Lee Longest, 89, passed away Monday, July 27, 2026 at the Gibson Family Hospice Center in Terre Haute. He was born on August 26, 1936 in English, Indiana to the late Charles and Hester (Lee) Longest. Billy was a member of the Union United Church.

Billy was known for reading his Bible every morning, and was on his knees at bedtime praying. He enjoyed watching sports, working puzzles, playing golf, but most importantly spending time with his family. Billy was preceded in death by his 5 siblings.

Survivors include his son, Michael (Melanie) Longest; daughters, Melynda (Mitch) Zindars, and Michelle Coffey; sister, Vicki Philpot; special niece, Joan Rissler; Eight Grandchildren and Ten Great-Grandchildren.

A celebration of Billy’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil, the family will accept friends for visitation on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service.
