Carol (Marlow) Brown, 75
Carol (Marlow) Brown, 75, of Center Point, Indiana, was called home to the Kingdom of God on March 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with kidney failure. Born on November 2, 1949, in Brazil, Indiana, Carol was the daughter of Robert and Ann Marlow.
A devoted and faithful servant, Carol had a deep and abiding passion for her local church and was a lifelong member of the Brazil Church of the Nazarene. For decades, she dedicated her time and talents to the church, serving on the church board and passionately supporting missions. She was also an active member of the Emmaus community, where her unwavering faith and commitment touched the lives of countless individuals.
Family was everything to Carol. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and loved, whether in her home or in the church. Carol rarely knew a stranger and spent countless hours cooking for those she cared about. Her hospitality was unmatched, and she found great joy in making people feel at ease. Carol's generosity knew no bounds—whether sending a card or offering a thoughtful gift, she always found ways to show others how much they meant to her. Her giving spirit flowed from her love for Jesus, and she worked to ensure everyone around her knew they were loved and welcomed.
Before dedicating herself to family and church, Carol had a diverse career. She was a traveling photographer, working across the Midwest in Columbia, Missouri, and on the East Coast in Washington, D.C. In 1978, she met Rodney Brown, a local farmer, on a blind date. Their first date was spent attending the Newport Hill Climb, and in 1979, they married. Rodney was the love of her life, and together they built a life filled with devotion, love, and faith. Carol worked as the office manager for the family farm, where she and Rodney made many cherished memories.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ann Marlow, and her beloved granddaughter, Meredith.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Rodney; her children, Kristin Whitaker (Craig), Keith Brown (Kandace), and Ryan Brown (Rachel); her five grandchildren, Brandon (Jonie), Ethan (Samantha), Kyle (Stella), Kaleb, and Jolie; and her four great-grandchildren, Zoey, Kale, Holland, and Hadley. She is also survived by her siblings, Robert (Laksana) Marlow, Larry (Beverly) Marlow, Renee (Larry) Rolison, and John (Mary) Marlow, as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. Carol's deep love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will forever live on in their hearts.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held at 1:00 P.M Friday, April 4, 2025 at the Brazil Church of the Nazarene with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers please give donations to the Brazil Church of the Nazarene youth camp and mission trip fund.
