Charlotte Ann (Ragsdill) Newport

Charlotte Ann Newport, 85, went to be with her Lord on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Cloverleaf Healthcare of Knightsville. She was born on March 10, 1937 in Duncan, Oklahoma to the late James and Ruth (Sleeker) Ragsdill. Charlotte graduated from Duncan High school with the class of 1955, and married Forrest Newport the following year on April 7. She was a homemaker most of her life, and briefly worked at the BMV. Charlotte was a member of First Christian Church for over 25 years, and was very active in the FBI class. She was also a member of the Eastern Star in Knightsville and El Shaddai Emmaus Walk #31. Charlotte was always involved in her children’s activities and volunteered for 4-H and Girl Scouts. In her free time, Charlotte loved reading, painting, watching sports, camping, and most importantly spending time with family. 

Charlotte is preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy, Ralph, and David Ragsdill; and daughter-n-law, Misty Newport. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Forrest Newport of Brazil; daughters, Julie (Gary) Ames of Brazil, Kay Fitch of Brazil, Karen (Larry) Haddon of Reelsville; son, Jim (Wendy) Newport of Brazil; grandchildren, Kristin (Michael) Scott, Jordan (Carrie) Ames, Ryan Ames, Jason (Jennifer) Fitch, Josh (Malinda Ritchey) Fitch, Amanda (Dustin Stouder) Haddon, Jerrod (Melissa) Haddon, Justin (Val) Haddon, Matthew (Ashle) Newport, Logan (Symone) Newport; great-grandchildren, Mariah Scott, Landon Scott, Kaitlyn Fitch, Erin Fitch, Reagan Fitch, Riley Fitch, Destiny (Jacob) Dobson, James (Kiana) Stouder, Chance Stouder, Clay Haddon, Hunter Haddon, Bailey Haddon, Emmie Haddon, Parker Haddon, Dakota Haddon, Kyler Wilson, Callie Hogan; great-great-grandchildren, Daisy Dobson, Waylon Stouder; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Mark Grayless and Pastor Chris Gregg officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Bowling Green.
