Clifford H. Blanchard, Jr., 79, was united with the love of his life on November 6, 2020 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born on July 7, 1941 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Clifford H. Blanchard, Sr. and Florence L. Lanham Blanchard. Cliff graduated from Griffith High School in 1959, and married Mary Ellen Bough on August 23, 1969.
After high school, he worked for Inland Steel while majoring in Electrical Engineering at Purdue University. In 1960 he enlisted in the United States Air Force, traveled all over the world, and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1984. Since retirement from the military, Cliff worked in Material Maintenance at Clay County Hospital before becoming a photographer for the Brazil Times and Wal-Mart photo studios. In addition to photography, genealogy was Cliff’s passion. He was a member of both the Wabash Valley and Clay County Genealogical Society, organized cemetery restoration workshops, and was very active in updating information and photographs for the “Find a Grave” website. Cliff was a member of Croy’s Creek Church and formerly a member of the Brazil First Church of the Nazarene.
In the past several years he joined the Sons of the American Revolution, where he was President of the John Martin Chapter located in Rockville, and was very involved with the Brazil VFW Post 1127. In his more active years he enjoyed playing golf and bowling. Cliff was preceded in death by his wife in 1999; brothers, Gordon and Keith Blanchard; sister, Marilyn Blanchard; and grandson, Ryan Yocom.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Paul Zurcher officiating, and burial with military honors to follow at Croy’s Creek Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to help the family follow Cliff’s final wish of relocating his beloved bride’s final resting place.
