Dale Richard Killion, 91, passed away, Saturday February 8, 2025 at the Gibson Hospice Center in Terre Haute. He was born on February 4, 1934 in Clay County to the late Reanis and Verla Evelyn (Stough) Killion, Dale graduated from Bowing Green High School in 1952, and went on to marry Patricia Rhodes on December 26, 1953. They were members of the Bowling Green Community Church. Dale served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
He was a farmer at heart, and spent 35 years making hickory livestock canes. In his later years, Dale enjoyed cruising around in his side by side, visiting neighbors. He never missed a chance to catch up with friends at the community dinners, and built his schedule around daily gameshows and Bingo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; and his sisters, Norma Hoten and Mary Mitchell.
Survivors include his son, Michael (Sally) Killion; daughters, Janeese Stearley, and Deneese (Tim) Dean; sister, Sharon Cooke; grandchildren, Allison (Mike) Allen, Grant Stearley, Morgan (Wade) Henrickson, Ashlyn Killion, and Jackson Killion; great-granddaughter, Drew Henrickson; as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Laura Wells officiating and burial to follow at Swaley Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bowling Green Community Church.
