Deloris Ruth Torrence, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Hickory Creek at Sunset in Greencastle. She was born on April 26, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Henry and Mary (Draper) Smith. Deloris married Gene Torrence on October 4, 1955. They were members of the Creekside House of Prayer in Cloverdale.

Deloris was an unwavering Christian, attending church whenever the doors were open. When she wasn’t raising her family or serving the Lord, she enjoyed baseball and kickball, going on vacations, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; daughters, Vicky Petrey and Donna Tincher; daughter-in-law, Lisa Wilson; sisters, Katy Pack, Peggy Sims, and Gloria Goldrick; and her brothers, Chuck and James Smith.

Survivors include her sons, David (Debbie) Torrence, Donald (Lisa) Torrence, Jimmy (Jessica) Torrence, and Charlie Wilson; daughters, Tammy (James) Petrey and Norma Smith; Sixteen Grandchildren; Twenty-Four Great Grandchildren; Thirteen Great-Great Grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.
