Brazil, Indiana

Edward “Eddie” L. Floyd, 68, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 23, 2020 surrounded by his family at home. He was born in Brazil on October 15, 1951 to the late Lawrence and Mildred (Walker) Floyd. Eddie attended Brazil High School and worked at Glen and Gary until they closed, spent 15 years at General Shale and then worked at Brick Craft for 4 years before retiring. He loved working on his lawn mowers, cutting grass, playing bingo, and fishing. His greatest joy came from sitting in the yard with his children and grandchildren. Eddie was one of the sweetest men you could meet, he would do anything for everyone. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Vick and Richard Floyd, and sister, Audrey (Hill) Morlan.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Sandy Floyd; daughters, Jackie (Joe) Drury, Penny (Randy) Wells, Bambi (Robert Roman) Floyd as well as a granddaughter he raised as his own, Samantha (Brian) McCullough; sisters, Beverly (Chuck) Stevenson, Mary Stute; brother, Ralph Floyd; sister-in-law, Sherry Floyd; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. 

To honor Eddie’s love of being outdoors, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday June 29, 2020 at Clearview Cemetery in Brazil with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
