Eleonora A. McKenzie, 88, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at her home. She was born in Holland, Indiana on May 13, 1934, the daughter of the late Herman and Minnie (Meyer) Pflueger. Eleonora graduated from Van Buren High School, and married Jack McKenzie on October 11, 1953. She worked at Model Milk and Ice Cream Company in Terre Haute, Twigg Industries in Brazil, and most recently at Pell’s Bargain Mart. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting, working picture puzzles, and especially being around her grandchildren. Eleonora was preceded in death by her sister, Marguerite; brothers, Herman and Ernie Pflueger; and step-grandson, John Mahurin.

Survivors include, husband of 69 years, Jack McKenzie; sons, Steven (Cyndy) McKenzie, Aaron (Georgia) McKenzie, and Gary (Molly) McKenzie; grandchildren, Amber (John) Skalak, Ashlie (Bradley) Lee, Bruce (Sherrie) McKenzie, Tim (Cori) McKenzie, and Brad (Angie) McKenzie; Step-grandchildren, Cayla (Cliff) Lawson, ChCarra (Barry) Jones, and Barbara Mahurin; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Trinity, Jack, Henry, Claire, June, Braelyn, Lillian, and Aubrie; step-great-grandchildren, Elias, Rhett, Knoxx, Cross, J.J., Travis, Britany, and Breanna; sister-in-law, Margie Pflueger; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family. 

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Calcutta Cemetery in Carbon with Pastor Mark Strahm officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation on Wednesday from 11:00 until the time of service at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil.
