Elizabeth “Betty” Wagner, 96, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026 while staying at Cloverleaf Healthcare. She was born in Bloomingdale on November 1, 1929 to the late Ralph and Helen (Cox) Farlow. Betty graduated from Bloomingdale High School in 1947 and from Indiana State Teachers College in 1951. She married Maurice Wagner on June 21, 1953, and worked as a teacher for a few years, and retired from General Housewears in Terre Haute. Betty was a member of the Brazil First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and volunteered with women’s ministries.
Betty was an avid reader, reading nearly 100 books in a year. She enjoyed crocheting, and crafts, as well as being quite the musician. She was a member of the high school band and college orchestra, playing the violin, trumpet and the piano. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; and her brother Robert Farlow; niece, Lisa Kay Atkinson; sister-in-law, Juanita Farlow.
Survivors include her son, Neal Wagner; daughter, Lisa (Robert) Reyher; grandchildren, Mark Reyher, Julie (Nic) Elliott, David Reyher, and Ashlee Reyher; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Bryson, Austin, Dylan, Kenan, Kris, Lilianna, Angelina, Briana, Kingston, Cameron, and Devon; niece Bonnie (Frank) Pendleton; and nephew, David (Carolyn) Farlow.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Quentin Madden officiating and burial to follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Fontanet. The family will accept friends for visitation on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until the service.
