Ellen Ruth Moore, 86, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute. She was born on April 5, 1934 in Big Rapids, Michigan to the late Gordon and Ellen (Taylor) Schlegel. Ellen retired from Moore’s Master Cleaning Corp. She attended East Side Baptist Church. She loved singing karaoke, attending church, getting her hair done by Rhonda, watching westerns, spending time with family and friends, and going anywhere with Nancy. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Alvis Moore; companion, Dean Miller; brother, Arden Andrews; sister, Frieda Hines; sister, Edna Hatfield; and nephew, Larry Hatfield.
She is survived by her son, John (Tammy Cornwell) Moore; step-daughter, Dee Ann Hoffman; nieces and nephews, Dan, Debbie, Sherry, Janice, Pam, Jeff, Dennis; cousin, Jack Unger (Jeff); close family friends, Donna and Jim Tennant, Dee and Jamie Tilley; and her puppy, Scotty.
A celebration of Ellen’s life will be held at 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Rev. David Tyra officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation on Tuesday, from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Mission Dignity, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
