Elma M. Wright, 76, went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family after a long and hard battle with several heath issues.

Elma was born on May 13, 1949 in Indianapolis to the late James and Maude Patterson. She earned her high school diploma later in life, and extended her education becoming a certified nurses aid. In her early years, Elma worked as a waitress, and she began her healthcare career in 1966. Elma married Jerry Wright on September 20, 1966, they were members of the New Life Fellowship Church.

In her free time she enjoyed studying her bible, traveling, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Wright.

Survivors include her daughters, Angela Callahan, Rebecca (Robert) Miller, and Brandy (Chris) Head; brothers, Charles (Susan) Patterson, and Roy (Debbi) Patterson. Grandchildren Brittany (Scott) Bennett, Tamara (Todd) Eaglin, Danielle (Chad) McCurry, Shania Callahan, Clarissa (Dakota) McMains, Shelby (Morgan) Garvin, Megan Miller, Kinsey Miller, Christopher (Emily) Head, Elisha (Jace) Weir, Karyn Stone; 21 Great-Grandchildren Nickolas, Brady, Bentley, Becca, Sophia, Reece, Eamon, Aubree, Carter, Grayson, Lincoln, Kyra, Alannah, Gunner, Emma, Harper, Karter, Liam, Preston, Kolton, And Elliona; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

The family would like to extend special thank you to Penny Grigsby for stepping up and helping through her battle, as well as thanking Hospice of the Wabash Valley for all the amazing care they provided.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 9, 2025 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Jeff Harpold officiating and burial to follow at Calcutta Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
