Emma Louise Batson, 78, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was born on April 7, 1942 in Brazil to the late Kenneth and Frieda (Richter) Archer. Emma attended high school in Indianapolis, and married Marion Batson in September of 1995. She retired from Medora Plastic, and later worked as a cook at the I70 truck stop, as well as several nursing homes in the area. Emma loved watching her grand babies, and spending time with family. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, working in her greenhouse, gardening, canning, and collecting frog figurines. Emma was preceded in death by her sons, Carrick and Curtis Batson.
She is survived by her husband, Marion Batson, Jr.; children, Trecia (Ronnie) Bumgardner, Jay (Eva) Sturgill, Patricia (Jim) Stout, Craig Batson, Chris (Andy) Edwards; brothers, Dale (Linda) Archer, Dwain (Tracy) Archer, Charles (Karen) Archer; sisters, Bonnie (Dave) Harmless, Cheri (Ted) Spurgeon, Charlotte (Dale) Backfish; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 26, 2020 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
