George W. Kollmeyer, 83, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at Gibson Family Hospice Center in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born in Columbus, Indiana on August 16, 1940 to the late Harold and Ida (Sullivan) Kollmeyer. George graduated from Odon High School in 1958 and went on to marry Joyce Jolliff on September 2, 1962. He worked as an Heavy Equipment Mechanic and was a member of the Staunton Christian Church.
In his free time, George enjoyed watching college sports, building models, doing crafts, and fishing. His favorite pastime was going out to eat, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; son, Thomas Kollmeyer; brothers, Robert and Leroy Kollmeyer.
Survivors include his daughters, Veronica Wiltsee of Brazil, and Melody (Jeremy) Fowler of Brazil; sister, Mary Jane Hobbs of Scotsburg, Indiana; grandchildren, Nicole (Zac) Farkzas, Tiffany (Justin) Baker, BJ (ChCarra) Jones, and Greg (Kayla) Jones; seven Great-Grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
A celebration of George’s life will be held in the spring. Moore Funeral Home in Brazil was entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
