Jack R. McKenzie

Jack R. McKenzie, 90, passed away Sunday October, 29, 2023 at his home in Carbon. He was born on May 31, 1933 in Brazil, Indiana to the late Siebert and Jewel McKenzie. He married Eleonora Pfleuger on October 11, 1953.

Jack worked at Logan Clay, several garages as an auto mechanic, and at Great Dane Trailers where he retired after 16 1/2 years as a trailer builder. He then worked for 4 years as a security guard at Great Dane Terre Haute. In his retirement years, Jack enjoyed repairing lawn mowers.

He was preceded in death by  his wife of 69 years and one day, Eleonora and his brother, John David McKenzie.

Survivors include his sons, Steve (Cyndy), Aaron (Georgia) and Gary (Molly) McKenzie, grandchildren, Tim (Cori) McKenzie, Brad (Angie) McKenzie, Amber (John) Skalak, Ashlie (Bradley) Lee, and Bruce (Sherrie) McKenzie; step-grandchildren, ChCarra (Barry) Jones, Cayla (Cliff) Lawson, and Barbara Mahurin; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Trinity, Jack,  Henry, Claire, June, Braelyn, Lillian, and Aubrie; step-great-grandchildren, Elias, Rhett, Knoxx, Cross, J.J., Travis, Brittany, and Breanna.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Mark Strahm officiating and burial to follow at Calcutta Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
