Jackie Joseph Tucker

Jackie Joseph Tucker, 90, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026 at his home. He was born on September 28, 1935 on Brazil to the late Orville and Mary (DeBruler) Tucker. Jackie graduated from Brazil High School in 1954, and served his country in the Untied States Army during the Korean War. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in vocational education from Indiana State University in 1977, and married Susie Kerr on June 1, 1984. Jackie worked as a stereotyper for the Tribune Star, and as a State Parole Officer for the Department of Corrections. Jackie and Susie attended the First Presbyterian Church in Brazil.

Jackie was a social man, who never met a stranger. He loved spending time with family and friends, and gathering at Turkey Run for family Christmas. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, restoring old telephones, and playing cards. He and Susie liked to go antiquing, and owned “His and Her’s Antiques” for several years. Jack was preceded in death by his five brothers, and his grandson, Joshua Tucker; good friend Bill Wolf.

Survivors include his wife, Susie Tucker; and children, Dan (Beth) Tucker, Joe (Jeri) Tucker, Jim (Tammy) Tucker, Steve Tucker, John (Karen) Hudson, Tony Tucker, Jacque Garcia, and Mike Tucker; Eleven Grandchildren, Eleven Great-Grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Mark Grayless officiating and burial to follow at Clear Run Cemetery in Bridgeton. The family will accept friends for visitation on Thursday from 12:00 until the time of service.
