Obituary

James Emanual Welch, Sr. 46, passed away Monday March 7, 2022 at his home in Terre Haute. He was born on June 18, 1975 in Brazil, Indiana to Jackie Lee Cather and Betty Joann (Welch) Romine. James worked at Dollar Tree, and Aspen Tree Service before becoming disabled. He married Mandy Roberts on September 18, 2005. In his free time James loved working at Shattered Nightmares in Terre Haute, karaoke, and fishing. He loved caring for his kids and grandkids, and spending time with family. James was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Cather; brother, Tim Romine; sisters, Breanna and Dewanda.

Survivors include his wife, Mandy Welch; mother, Betty (Ron) Romine; sons, Travis Welch and James Welch, Jr.; daughters, Lauren and Olivia Hine; brothers, Kenny and Paul Romine; sisters, Rhonda Tuggel, Angie Cather, Carrie (Shane) Minnick, and Kathy (Anthony) Bevis; grandchildren, Mason and Brayton Hine; special friend, Paco Hoopingarner; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A celebration of James’s life will be held at a later date, Moore Funeral Home in Brazil has been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
