James "Jim" Darin Greenwell

James “Jim” Darin Greenwell, 57, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born on July 28, 1965 in Brazil. Jim graduated from Van Buren High School in the Class of 1983 and earned his Batchelor’s Degree from Purdue University and his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. He served his country in the United States Army, and went on to marry Teresa Egloff on August 10, 1996.

Jim was an engineer by trade, but preferred to be running King James Kennels or working on his stock portfolio. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, working with his dogs, reading, music, traveling, and had recently gotten into blacksmithing. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Joan Egloff.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Greenwell; parents, Pete and Beverly Taylor; father-in-law. Ralph Egloff; son; James Greenwell, II; brother, Leo Greenwell; sister, Amy (Matt) Switzer; sister-in-law, Kim (Darrel) Bourne; nieces and nephews, Dalton Greenwell, Allison, Eric, Abby Switzer; as well as several aunts, uncles and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday July 27, 2023 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating and burial to follow at Clearview Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carbon Community Church.
