Jerry Wayne Bowles, 71, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville. He was born on March 23, 1948 in Brazil, Indiana to Jon R. And Mazie (Rissler) Bowles. Jerry graduated from Staunton High School in 1966, and from Purdue University with a degree in Animal Science in 1971 and a degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1988. He married Donna Rarick on July 19, 1975 in LaPorte, Indiana. Jerry worked at a dairy farm for 13 years where his skill with sick and weak calves was notable, he later was employed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources as a Civil Engineer. He retired from the DNR after 18 years of service.
Jerry was a long time member of World Gospel Church in Terre Haute where he taught Pioneer Clubs, Kids for Christ, and Sunday School, he was also a member of the Gideons. He was known for his gentleness, and dry sense of humor. He enjoyed all handicrafts, and could make anything out of nothing. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mazie Bowles.

Lori (Sid) Bowles-Sampson, Peoria, Illinois
Several Nieces, Nephews and other extended family
Grandchildren: Timothy, Anna, and Peter Butt
The family invites friends to join them for a graveside service at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 13, 2019 at Union Cemetery in Brazil with Pastor Alfy Austin officiating. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday at World Gospel Church (900 Gardendale Road, Terre Haute, Indiana). The family will accept friends for visitation at church on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to World Gospel Church Missions or the National Parkinson’s Foundation.
