John D. Brunette, 63, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Hutsonwood of Brazil after a brief illness. He was born in Brazil, Indiana on June 13, 1961 to the late Clement S. Brunette and Patricia D. (Ball) Miller. John attended Brazil High School, and went on to marry Betty Bridgewater on October 3, 1987. He worked as a custodian for the Indiana Department of Transportation.

John loved being outdoors, spending his free time fishing, ginseng hunting, and mushroom hunting. He enjoyed attending dirt track races, and lawn mower demolition derbies, as well as watching Colts football. John was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ashley Nicole and his mother and father-in-law, Rabbit and Maxine Bridgewater.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years Betty Brunette; daughter, Betty (J.R. Raines) Stuchell; brother, Tim (Tracy) Brunette; best friends, Donna and Jim Raines; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Restlawn Cemetery in Brazil. Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with John’s cremation arrangements.
