John Hiday, born August 14, 1965, to David L. and Mary L. (Crouch) Hiday in Anderson, Indiana, passed away suddenly on Feb. 22, 2025.

John graduated from Highland High School (Anderson) in 1983 and went on to graduate from Indiana State University. He met Sherilyn Stanfield in April 1987 and they married in October, 1998.

John enjoyed the outdoors and taking care of his menagerie of birds and animals. He loved language and history and sharing funny songs and videos, as well as playing long and complicated board games with family and friends. A rich combination of humor and intellectual curiosity was loved by all who knew him.

John is survived by his wife, Sherilyn Stanfield; his mother, Mary L. Hiday of Anderson; his brothers David R. Hiday (Tammy) of Middletown, Indiana, and James D. Hiday of Muncie, Indiana; his sister, Karen J. Hiday, of Muncie, Indiana; as well as two nieces Nicki McGackey and Caty Humes.

John was preceded in death by his father, David L. Hiday; his stepfather, Joseph 'Dick' Hiday; his brother, Steven N. Hiday; and his sister, Christy A. Hiday.
